Customs And Duties
Customs Duty refers to the tariff or tax imposed on goods during international transportation. It serves to safeguard each country's economy, residents, jobs, and environment by regulating the flow of goods across borders.Â
Even when customers globally order and purchase goods online, the products undergo an import procedure for customs clearance. The clearance process is influenced by factors such as the country of origin, value (including transport charges), and the quantity of goods.
Each country has its own customs laws, and duties vary based on the type and value of goods. International transportation companies, handling Waqar Electronics’ order packages, must comply with local customs legislation. Recipients are required to pay customs duties, taxes, and other import charges upon the package's arrival. Key points to note:
- Regardless of whether a shipment is a gift, it undergoes an import procedure determined by the destination country's customs law.
- Customs duty and taxes apply only if the gift's value exceeds a specified local threshold.
- The responsibility for paying duties and taxes lies with the receiver (the person who purchased the goods), not the shipper (Waqar Electronics).
- Waqar Electronics cannot guarantee doorstep delivery if a parcel is stuck in customs clearance. In such cases, customers are responsible for paying customs duty and clearing the parcel.
- If customs authorities charge duties and taxes upon delivery, customers must pay these charges to receive the package.
- Waqar Electronics is not responsible for customs duties incurred during the customer's receipt of the package.
- Customers refusing to pay charges may result in the return of the package, with deductions from the refund for initial and return shipping charges, as well as any tax/duties charged to Waqar Electronics upon return.
- If a package is marked as abandoned and destroyed at the destination due to the customer's failure to respond, no refund claims can be made.
